On Friday 26th I went to the Cross Kings Venue in London to support some friends, the Fukkarettes. Four bands played in all and they were all unexpectedly different, including one guy playing a saw. Yes a saw. At the end of the night I was asked to submit some pictures by the very nice Lis Barber at the venue. The first picture below was used on their website www.thecrosskings.co.uk
The only other thing to say is that many of the movement shots were created using the flash at the end of a long exposure. I think it works really well to show movement. As always, click a pic for a better look.

The Fukkarettes

Every month I enter a local competition. The great thing about it is the theme changes each month which forces you to work creatively, sometimes in areas you hadn’t considered before. You are allowed five entries a month so the incentive is there to really work on the theme from several angles. The other members of the group all have a love of photography and the standard is really quite high.
A vote is held at the end of the month and is open to the public which adds a little fun to the whole thing. This month the theme is “Movement”.
Here with my favorite photo of mine so far in two versions

I think both have something to offer. For me the black and white one has great reflections from the cars at the side of the street.
Here are a few other shots in the series for this month.

Welcome to my first post on this my shiny new website. Thanks to Adam and Tiger for getting me hooked up so quickly with everything I needed to manage most of the content myself. For my first post then I would like to show my favorite shot from a wedding I covered in May.

This area of the site will keep you up to date with what I am working on at the moment.
Be sure to look at the weddings tab above if this is your first visit.
Pop back for regular updates.
