Open Mic Uk Finals

Saturday 28th November saw the finals for the Open Mic Uk competition in Portsmouth’s Guildhall.  I was invited along by DistractTV for the 18 to 24 year old category.  Its was great event and I had lots of fun shooting the show from upstairs.  I had the floor to myself which was a real bonus.  The standard was high but I think the winner was well chosen.  Links below to Distract TV and a free photo gallery of the night.  Get in touch if you want hi res versions or prints.  Thanks to Gita and Abid for the pizza! Fantastic to work with you both.

Frills n Frolics in Folkestone

Friday the 20th of November saw the Frills n Frolics night organised by Skinny Pete Promotions.  The View venue in Folkestone was the setting this time and it was a small intimate place with great decorations and small stage upfront.  There was no room for a photo area this time but it all worked out nicely anyway. Met some lovely people on the night, including a very friendly crowd.

Practically every guest was photographed so have a good look through the gallery link below.  Please feel free to right click and save to use for you face book or whatever. If you like the photos and want a print, or Hi Res versions, get in touch on the contacts page. If you want to donate a little money to cover my expenses please do on the payments page. Any contributions are gratefully accepted.  Please, please leave a comment if you like the photos.

Betty Feelgood before the show.  Lovely girl.

The lovely Severine Sinful, the best Hostess a burlesque gig can have.  Sevy did a fantastic job on the night and kept things moving along despite some technical music problems.  Well done.

Glory Pearl did two hilarious acts on the night including an old woman and a chimney sweep.  I saw her a couple of months back in Hastings where she did an incredible pole routine.  I had no idea she did such good comedy as well.

Charlotte Street Blues - London

Novemeber 14th saw a great blues night at Charlotte Street Blues in London’s West End.  In the shadow of the BT tower Its an odd mix of people, both young and old, and its an odd mix of food and live bands. Works really well and there are plenty out of the way places to chill out and chat if live music isn’t your thing. Below is pictured drummer Igor from Sons of Blues who where the support band for Joanne Shaw Taylor. Miss Taylor can certainly rock and the two bands had the crowd cheering for more.

Enjoy the gallery below.

As promised a few more shots from the Bella De Jac.  Bella has been busy making a calender a seven of my shots were used.   These actual shots do not appear in the calender but were shot on the same day.  I’ve kept them small as they may be used in the future.  Enjoy and thanks to Bella for a job well done.

Dominic and Claire

The end of October saw Dominic and Claire get married in Lee-0n-Solent.  I drove down early and visited the bride and groom separately for the before shots.  I had a little time to kill before the registry office so went and checked out the golf club for the evening reception and then arrived very early to the registry office to hunt out any possible locations for shots.  Normally I like to visit the location before hand but the distance wouldn’t allow that.   Still being prepared and getting there early helps.

It was a lovely wedding and it was nice to get a few compliments on the day.  Thanks guys.

I’ve updated the wedding gallery, but please see these few shots below.

Hendrick’s Haloween Ball

Friday 3oth of October saw this massive party organised by The Last Tuesday Society at The Troxy in London.

The Urban Voodoo Machine where the headline band on the night so I was there to cover the event.

It was a decedent affair, with naked performers and lavish feasts and games and fun for everyone.  There was even a Bath House and a photo booth complete with a stuffed wolf. Here with a few portraits from the night.
