I was quite reluctant to write this year’s story of the calendar shoot, it’s a big task. I’m guessing there are not that many people reading this because it’s just so long. I’ll forgive you if you don’t read it all as long as you give your money to help stop cancer. I guess you […]
What a top notch night, The Professionals, A Sex Pistol, A Buzzcock, Jim Jones Revue and many more including Paul Ronnie Angel. Long live Vive La Rock. Everyone stayed despite it being a school night well after the entertainment had finished. Made some new friends and really had a good time. Full Album
A very lively night at Paper Dress Vintage, a shop that doubles as a venue on two floors in London’s Hackney. I am not sure when the next one is, but it seems quarterly, so probably in the spring. The band is headed up by Benjamin Louche, compere and producer at The Double R Club. […]
It was great to see the return of It’s Your Funeral, after a couple of years. I went along to the September show this year and the last show, in November, at The BGWMC. The first show had a fantastic line up, with comedy, sword swallowing and bereavement yoga which was hilarious, great music and […]
La Cage Royale is a heady mix of cabaret and walk round performance, with specialist salons. It is a platform for creatives, a network open to all, including the gender defying community. I am sure each event is unique but I will attempt to give you a flavour. The night is put on by Thierry Alexandre and Lara Buffard and […]
I went to my first Frieda Nipples presents in the summer in Nunhead South London. It was small space above a pub, but just right for a show. Three fun filled acts covering all sorts beyond burlesque, music, comedy, and award winning acts including Ruby Jones, winner of best alternative act at The Burlesque Awards […]
I am so glad I made it this year to The Uk Twin Peaks Festival, a really wonderful event. With the recent TV show attendence from actors and fans was great. A real festival vibe, everyone super nice, actors included. With The Double R Performing in the afternoon, and the other attractions like life drawing […]
I love this event, held at Tobacco Dock yearly in London. Louise Rio Wild runs Pin Up Uk and invites me along each year. I managed one full day on the Saturday, Full Album HERE. Great to run into old friends and conspirators. Here is a taste.
Celebrating 14 years of bands and cabaret and DJ’s at The Hootananny in Brixton. Food is served outside in the large yard which is great for a break from the performance. Amanda pictured below runs the night. Was great to see The Urban Voodoo Machine Marching Band too. Their Facebook Full Album
In August this makeover happened, and it was so much fun. Lovely ladies, lots of food, and good vibes. The full albums are not available but enjoy a few shots.
As part of The Postcards Festival, work in progress was shown by The Late Night Shop. They used photos we did ages ago for press, so I went along to support them at Jackson Lane Theatre. Terrific show, very funny in places and surprising, with light shows added for good measure. Full Album
Popped along to this one in July, but it has been running regularly now for a couple of years at the excellent venue Jamboree at Cable Studios in East London. Cool crowd and good times, look out for more this year. First one is January 10th. Their Facebook Full Album
I first met the Garden Museum people in 2013. Not that long after the museum closed for refurbishment, with big plans for a classroom and exhibition spaces. I am pleased to say that the museum officially opens again this year, with support coming from The Lottery Fund and several patrons. Even Alan Titchmarsh has been supporting […]
Brilliant night at Paper Dress Vintage, a vintage store that transforms into a venue at night. Run by the Double R Club people, its a homage to Twin Peaks with people dressing up as their favourite characters. See The Full Album
The nice people at the De La Warr Pavilion got in contact with a cryptic brief. I had no real idea what to expect but was there to document events. In Association with The Bexhill Sailing Club, mock sea battles with coloured gas were recorded by Simon with a large format camera, to be latter […]
